Since kangaroos do not have as much fat as cows or some other animals that are used for leather, the skin does not have to be shaved as much, if at all. This means that the integrity of the skin remains in tact. Kangaroo skin is also naturally lightweight and flexible. The special tanning process required for making kangaroo leather makes the leather less likely to lose its shape over time, as well as more water resistant.

Kangaroos were the shit back in the 80s, man.

I like that we’re calling his site Dougslist, this works for me.
![]() 06/30/2020 at 17:47 |

I saw it when I went today. 199k miles and it’s SMG, but the car doesn’t drive
. Idle is okay but it doesn’t rev up. Could be something electrical, but more likely, the transmission is broken.

Also, the LaFerrari is the F70.
![]() 06/30/2020 at 17:50 |

Ah, gotcha. Wonder what a good engine alone (with an
RB swap) is worth from one of these?

I’m glad we cleared that up..... :-?

I assumed it was squid leather.

I think it’s worth recognising that Ferrari names have no reason. The F40 and F50 are followed by Enzo, the 430, 458, 488 are followed by the F8. The 355 Challenge is followed by the 360 Challenge Stradale , followed by the 430 430 Scuderia followed by the 458 Speciale. The Cali preceded the Portofino.
Ferrari has long followed the same idea, or even the same chassis and engines , while completely sending it in regard to consistent naming .
You’re right of course, but I think if you follow that thread you’ll be renaming half the Ferrari models that exist.

Douglist is good. Sold
![]() 06/30/2020 at 18:09 |

A lot. But the buy it now price is 9500, and reserves are usually pretty close. This seems like a part out, not a driver. Interior was in pretty good shape, but I don’t like those miles.

Seller Reserve Not Yet Met
Seems... optimistic.
![]() 06/30/2020 at 18:22 |

Yeah, the reserve might be in the 7-8k range. Honestly that’s probably about right.

Maybe there are some deals to be had on Dougslist with less bidders than BaT. $4,6 00!

Am I the only one after read ing ostrich leather then proceeded to read the web link as Cars & Birds?

Go toyota v12 for alot less money (and power)

Ostrich leather is more resistant to damage from sunlight, so it actually makes perfect sense in a convertible. It is more slippery, though. Cadillac used to use it in their convertibles.

I don’t care about the rest, and the Enzo gets a pass.
“
LaFerrari”
is just terrible.

It will have at least that much in repair bills in the first year of ownership.

It’s a Bentley, after all.

The influencer owned ones that I know of haven’t had all that many problems. At least it was the sort of car that doesn’t often have maintenance deferred. Of course just parts alone are enormously e xpensive.

Hah! Squid’s don’t have leather. That’s what makes them a squid!

Pored over the site a bit. There is a Sprint Blue RS4 for auction that is local to me....hmmmmm...

Love those, but they make me nervous.
![]() 07/02/2020 at 16:23 |

The car has been pretty thoroughly maintained. Timing chains are a non-issue on the RS4. It needs a water/meth injection system to help mitigate carbon buildup, and replace the DRC with coilovers when it starts leaking. Otherwise, it’s good to go. I’ll be curious as to what it ends up selling for.
